About

Subdivision Sports was essentially created by Michael Finneran in 1990. Since then, 33 soccer seasons have come and gone, each year growing steadily. Our program has been family owned and operated for over 20 years, its humble beginnings began in the Steeple Run Subdivision when our son Michael was old enough to start playing sports. Starting out with a handful of teams, Subdivision Soccer now serves Kindergarten through 9th grade, with over 60 teams each season and over 1000 children from Naperville and the surrounding areas. The Kindergarten through 7th levels generally play in their own grade level, while 8th and 9th are combined.

The difference

Subdivision Sports has a few distinct differences than park district or traveling soccer programs. We try our best (but can not guarantee) to fulfill any and all team requests. Our main goal is to create a stronger community between and for the children and their families. Each division (grade level) has their own style uniform (Shirt, Shorts & Socks), with each team wearing a variation of that uniform. Our uniforms are replicas of designs used by international soccer teams. If you purchased your jersey in our Fall season, you play with the same jersey in the Spring! Each child receives a trophy at the end of the season.

The Fee

The fee for our program runs $75 for returning players and $95 for new players requiring a uniform, each registration includes all of the above.  All teams are co-ed. There are seven regular season games, and at least one playoff game. We play at local parks and fields such as, River Woods Elementary, Wood Glen Park of Lisle, and Prairie Elementary. Games in the Fall are played Saturdays and Sundays with some weeknight games, from Labor Day weekend through the last weekend of October (Fall season). Games in the Spring are played on the weekends as well, from late March through May. Where and when practices are held are up to the coach’s discretion. All of our championship games are played at Benedictine University Stadium!

Other sports

Subdivision Basketball, Softball, Baseball, and Volleyball have also been a part of Subdivision Sports in the past, and there is a good possibility that at least one of these sports will be restarted. If anyone has any ideas for these programs and/or would like to work in conjunction with Subdivision Sports, please feel free to drop us a line!
